This is just a reminder that your comments relating to the BOORLEY GREEN TRAFFIC CALMING SCHEME and the closure of Wangfield Lane have to be submitted by this Friday, 23 June.
The full details proposed are available online (see below). HCC have stated the responses will shape their recommendation, so it is critical we respond.
If you think there are better options it is advisable to voice that opinion. Some other alternatives we are aware of are:
- Closure of Maddoxford Lane at a point between the Maddoxford Boorley Park junction and Maddoxford Farm (to prevent entry to Netherhill), with closure of Oatlands Road and Crows Nest Lane (at the ends of the Road – not the middle)
- No closure of Maddoxford Lane but with speed and weight restrictions, and closure of Oatlands Road and Crows Nest Lane (at ends of the road – not the middle)
- Closure of Maddoxford Lane at a point between the Maddoxford Boorley Park junction and Crowsnest Lane which will disperse some traffic from Boorley Park to the East (Wangfield) and away from Winchester Road, area and negate the need to close any roads in Boorley Green.
In both the options 1 and 2 above and the HCC proposal all ‘rat run’ traffic currently using Maddoxford/Wangfield will be curtailed thereby immediately reducing the volumes of traffic lower than currently use those roads.
